In the modern world of technology, Karyn’s grandfather still believes in ancient lore, but it is Karyn who stumbles by accident upon the very thing he seeks, a dragon. Ronwyn, the last living dragon knows that soon she will be discovered and destroyed by humans and she charges Karyn with transporting four dragon eggs to safety. As the last remaining dragon eggs, they are the only hope for the survival of her species. Teased by her twin brother Garyn, thirteen-year-old Karyn leaves the world of video games and technology and heads out on her own to fulfill her promise. During her journey, she finds true friends and uncovers many secrets, some about herself and her missing parents.

In the only place where dragons could survive, Karyn and her companions discover that the old legends are much more a part of their lives than they ever thought possible. Even skeptical Garyn, determined to rescue his sister from her crazy imagination, can't resist the pull of this magical world for long. Karyn struggles to find a way to keep her promise and the dragons alive. Will her efforts be enough to save the nearly extinct race, and at what cost to herself and those she loves?

The Egg Bearer Dragons' Bane Book 1 edition by ShaNeil Harada Kassiah Waddell Children eBooks

This story stands on its own, but does leave room for more adventures. I gave it four stars because it held my attention throughout. I found it enjoyable, but a lot of things were just too convenient. I won't list them to avoid spoilers, and I think kids will enjoy this story.

The Egg Bearer Dragons' Bane Book 1 edition by ShaNeil Harada Kassiah Waddell Children eBooks Reviews

The simple, artful writing style paints a picture in the imagination from the very fist page! I was drawn in by both the story-line and development of the characters. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE SEQUEL!
I love dragon books and this did not disappoint. I am looking forward to more in the series and books from this author.
I have read each of ShaNeil Harada's books, and I must say that this is my favorite. The suspense pulls you into the world of her characters. It is an easy read, and I can hardly wait for the second book to be released. This book is enjoyable for all age groups.
I found the story entertaining.Dragon stories have been around forever, and the plot was not really a new idea,I will read the sequel(s) when they showup on my radar,
Entrusted with four unhatched dragons Karyn and her twin brother Garyn must find a safe place for the hatchlings to be hatched and raised. They go into the world of elves and magic and have a thrilling adventure.
The Egg Bearer (Dragons' Bane)
I really liked this story. It's designed for kids but can be enjoyed by adults. Kind of like the Harry Potter stories, in that regard. It's been a few years since I read this, but I still recall the feelings of camaraderie this band of adventurers evoked. Enjoy this!
I won't go too much in to the story just because spoilers aren't fun. I really enjoyed this book. I felt that the Author really created a world where fantasy mixes with modern day cleanly. The over all story itself is something I would let my kids start reading around six or seven. I felt that the story overall is a good character introduction and establishing who each character is in relation to the others. It's left open in a great way to continue the story without leaving any loose ends. While there is violence it's not gory and graphic except for one part but there isn't much detail. That's left up to the reader.
This story stands on its own, but does leave room for more adventures. I gave it four stars because it held my attention throughout. I found it enjoyable, but a lot of things were just too convenient. I won't list them to avoid spoilers, and I think kids will enjoy this story.
